Learn how to create a print-rich environment at home, interact with your child about text, respond to children’s questions to encourage creativity and thinking skills, and support the development of basic reading skills.
Pre-School and Kindergarten
School Ready
Reading and Writing, Language and Literacy, and Numbers and Math
School Ready teaches the easiest skills first and then builds on that knowledge.
One-on-one instruction will teach a variety of readiness, writing, literacy, and early math skills including: directionality, letter recognition, matching, vocabulary, rhyming, imitation, problem solving, patterns, and sequencing. Strategies for family involvement are provided to continue learning at home.
First Grade through High School and Beyond
Intensive Reading Intervention
Early identification of reading difficulties and comprehensive early reading intervention can prevent children from experiencing frustration and continuing difficulties.
The Intensive Reading Intervention is a one-on-one individualized reading intervention that is targeted to remediate difficulties with reading, spelling, and writing. The Orton Gillingham approach provides systematic, explicit, and intensive instruction in phonemic awareness, phonics, reading fluency, vocabulary, and reading comprehension strategies.
